"The
Art of Forgetting" (Sri Lanka)
a film
by Lisa Kois
Some people
say forget the past. Others have no choice but to remember…
These are their stories, set within the story of a journey
from the northern-most tip of Sri Lanka to the southern-most,
on the roads that cut through a landscape scarred by a conspiracy
of violence and memory. “The Art of Forgetting”
is the documentary filmmaking debut of Lisa Kois, who has
lived in Sri Lanka for ten years and has worked on and grappled
with questions of violence and memory. Lisa Kois is a researcher,
writer and first-time filmmaker. (57 minutes)
